Rebecca Wage | 2009 | Washington DC
Rebecca Wage spent six months in Washington, DC working with Center for International Policy (CIP), a think tank that produces reports and publications relating to U.S. foreign policy.
As a student of politics and international relations, Rebecca was particularly interested in the mission of Center for International Policy, which is to promote foreign policy based on cooperation, demilitarization and respect for human rights. Rebecca arrived right as CIP was planning to launch a new program concerning excessive military spending, called The Common Defense Campaign. Rebecca’s job was to build capacity for CIP and the project by creating a new design for the website, switching to a new email newsletter program, and creating an online blog. Rebecca completed all these projects and wrote an RFP for the new CIP website. She also learned first-hand the dynamics of contemporary military spending.
