Director of Technology
Hasnain Nazar is a GIIP alumni with a history of involvement on the UCSC campus. As a student he was a peer mentor, president of the Muslim Student Association twice, a representative for the United States at United Nations: Alliance of Civilizations In Portugal, and a social media intern at Win Without War,which was done as a GIIP Project. For his second GIIP project, Hasnain worked for six months as a Technology and Research Intern for Sisters in Islam, or Musawah, a women’s rights advocacy group in Malaysia. He simultaneously became a certified researcher with the United Nations on children’s rights.Hasnain also taught and developed curriculums for Web Design and Video production, as a GIIP Fellow.

Currently, Hasnain is the Director of Technology at GIIP, where he develops the GIIP Technology curriculum, coordinates technical training and social enterprise, and maintains technical partnerships. In addition, he does freelance web design, database construction, and maintenance for various companies. His areas of expertise lie in foreign policy, Islamic law, information management, and technology for social change.
